LOCATION
Not far from the city centre , this modern, 2nd floor apartment with balcony sleeps four, overlooks a quiet tree lined side street , yet is only a 2 minute walk from Mariendorfer Damm. Along this cosmopolitan urban highway a variety of shops, restaurants and bars can be found, where you can get something to eat or drink into the small hours. There are also supermarkets, chemists ,a variety of specialist stores and, at the corner of Prinzenstrasse, a bi-weekly open air market. Also situated on the Mariendorfer Damm are bus stops . The U6 tube station, Westphalweg, is only 3 minutes' walk from the apartment . From here the main attractions of central Berlin, Brandenburg Gate, Unter den Linden and Potsdamer Platz are only 15 minutes away. Along the same road, close to the junction with Prinzenstrasse is a landscaped park with an extensive lake, providing a green lung not only for leisure seeking city dwellers but for an astonishing variety of bird life, including heron. At one end of the park is an open air swimming pool adjoining a flower garden with statuary. A short drive away is Gropius Passage, Berlin's largest shopping mall with multiplex cinema. The A10 (E30) Autobahn is a 20 minute drive in the same southerly direction.
Street parking immediately outside the building is free.
By road : A10 Autobahn to junction with B96. Follow this road straight thru Lichtenrade to junction of Mariendorfer Damm junction with Britzer Strasse where you will see Alt Mariendorf U-Bahn station. Carry on thru traffic lights to next traffic lights . Next left is Prinzenstrasse. The entrance to No 34 is at the back of the clearly numbered block of flats.
By U-Bahn. From Schoenefeld Airport, take the 'Airport Express' (Deutsche Bahn rather than S-Bahn) direct to Friedrichstrasse, where you change to the U6 U-Bahn to Westphalweg.
Westphalweg station is on the U6 line direct from Friedrichstrasse. Take southerly exit , cross Kaiserstrasse ,continue for 150 metres to find Prinzenstrasse on your right. No 34 is on the right 100 metres down the road; entrance at rear.
